Our three paths
Which carreer path you want to take is entirely up to you!
Pursue a career as an expert
A specialist career describes the promotion and development of our employees in their specialist expert career. It consists of three parts:
- The basis is the job family, which is a job cluster formed according to the principle of similarity.
- Based on this, there are roles that are made up of tasks, responsibilities and competences/authorisations.
- Career levels are categorised as Junior, Professional, Senior and Principal.
What makes this career path so special?
It is not only possible to develop your expertise within a role from junior to principal, but also to develop into other roles. In this way, we support both the professional and personal development of our employees.
Assuming management responsibility
Our aim is to strengthen leadership competences and support the thinking and action skills of managers. This includes not only imparting skills and knowledge, but also promoting personal development and social skills.
What makes the leadership career so special?
The foundation of our programme is based on the following two pillars:
- A common understanding of leadership: this not only creates clarity and orientation for managers, but also promotes a standardised approach to leadership issues throughout the company. By applying the principles derived from the common understanding of leadership, individual leadership skills are strengthened and a positive corporate culture is promoted..
- Building internal and external networks: We offer ‘collegial case counselling’ and other exchange formats for managers. It is important to us to take into account both the internal and external perspective through dialogue with other companies. This exchange not only promotes the learning of best practices, but also the development of innovative solutions for challenges in day-to-day management.
Things are changing
An internal change offers you the opportunity to develop your career within our company and master new professional challenges. Whether you want to switch to a different industry or grow with a new job, we will help you to expand your skills and gain valuable experience.
What makes an internal change so special?
- New perspectives and development opportunities.
- A familiar environment and support along the way.
Our training programme
If you have a wish, we have the means to make it happen.
We offer our employees sufficient space as well as professional and financial support to fulfil their individual needs. We provide our employees with a mix of learning materials, as each path is individual and can be designed flexibly. Below are three special offers to give you an insight into our diverse learning programme:
The starting point for your personal development and the expansion of your competences. Regardless of whether you want to familiarise yourself more deeply with our d.velop product world, expand your specialist knowledge or develop yourself personally. You will find the right offer on this platform. The advantage is that you can find offers from all formats, all providers/sources and for all areas of expertise. To avoid an overload, we have clustered the listings according to areas of expertise, job families, formats, etc. as a ‘signpost’.
If you are thinking of attending external seminars or study programmes for further training, we will be happy to make this possible. We will discuss with you individually how d.velop can support you.
360° feedback is a tool for personal development, because you get the chance to receive feedback from different perspectives. Together with your own assessment, this gives you the opportunity to compare your self-image with how others see you. The feedback is based on various competences, so that all feedback providers assess aspects such as communication skills, leadership skills, etc. The results of the 360° feedback form the basis for individual further development along the competences.
At d.velop, everyone has the opportunity to be individually supported by our people coaches – whether it’s choosing your next step or other topics, because a career doesn’t always go straight ahead. This includes, for example, support during changes, support with leadership responsibilities, dealing with conflicts or team development.

I’m going on an adventure!
After completing my bachelor’s degree, I started at d.velop in August 2021 as an SDR in the Platform Growth team. Even then, I was given a high level of trust, so after just under a year I was offered the opportunity to move to the Health & Care division and work there as a Senior SDR. In this role, I was given responsibility for Sales Development early on and became the team lead for all SDRs.
But my journey didn’t end there: My current team lead offered me the opportunity to completely change my career path and significantly broaden my horizons: a lateral move into the role of CRM Manager for Salesforce. This change not only opened up new perspectives, but also allowed me to grow enormously on a personal level. In addition to my experience in sales, d.velop offered me the opportunity to get to know, supervise and implement many exciting projects in the Salesforce area as a project manager, consultant and product owner.
At the same time, d.velop is actively supporting me in my Master’s degree programme, enabling me to achieve the perfect balance between my career and further education.
I am incredibly grateful to be part of a company that places so much trust and support in me and look forward to everything that lies ahead!

Time for a change – out of the rat race and into internal sales!
I used to work as a painter and varnisher and in the following 10 years I gained experience in the internal sales department of a painters’ wholesaler and became branch manager. Then came the crunch: after more than a year of parental leave, I came back and quickly realised that hardly anything had changed here. I was shocked and asked myself the question: surely that can’t be it? I realised that I needed something new again! Family-friendly conditions were particularly important to me for a change; after all, my priorities have changed due to my children.
After a lot of thought and research, a friend gave me the right tip: Why don’t you try d.velop? After my first interview, I was able to successfully tick off my wishes and take the plunge into the world of IT. But I was still looking for the hook. After a successful induction in internal sales, I didn’t find the hook and I’m just glad I took the plunge.
The change of industry and the modern and flexible organisation of everyday life were refreshing – it feels so much easier.

Lots of cold water, why not?
After my mechanical engineering degree and practical final thesis, I was taken on directly by the same company and started my professional life. After a subsequent MBA programme and various developments both at work and in my family, I needed a change. The d.velop documents I already knew and used turned out to be the key to change. The requirements profile initially put me off, so I simply attended the recruitment event discover d.velop. After an intensive discussion with a former career changer, I was hyped and simply gave it a try with an application. I made a convincing pitch and was welcomed with open arms and a great deal of trust.
If I had known all this in advance, I could have saved myself a lot of hassle and taken this path much earlier.

My path to leadership: an adventure!
In the first few years within the d.velop family, I mainly worked in project management and supported our customers in the implementation of our solutions. The cross-project exchange with colleagues made it easy for me to network within d.velop. I was gradually able to broaden my professional and personal horizons and three years later, together with a great team, I was able to lay the foundation for digitalisation consulting in Professional Services.
With a change to a new organisational structure, I was surprised to receive a message from our Vice President at the beginning of 2023, starting with the words: “Maaartin, how are you? We should talk.” Shortly afterwards, the Director Project Delivery also got in touch. Both wanted to know whether I could imagine a new role in the Health & Care Business Division. This confidence in my work and person really encouraged me to take on the challenge. I am still grateful to both of them for giving me this opportunity. My development was strengthened by an extra-occupational Master’s programme, further certifications and, among other things, 360° feedback for self-reflection.
Afterwards, my occasionally turbulent, here and there challenging, but always exciting and satisfying adventure towards leadership began. I am grateful to have the support and trust of my team, my superiors and all d.velop employees behind me at all times.
As much as I enjoy looking back on the start, I am looking forward to the future. As Team Lead, it fulfils me every day to be able to work with the great people in my team.
